Tobi es un perrito schnauzer de 10 años que ha llenado de amor y compañía a su familia durante toda su vida. Es noble, inteligente, dulce… de esos seres que no necesitan hablar para hacerse entender. Su sola presencia calma y acompaña.

Hace pocos días, Tobi empezó a vomitar sin parar. Lo llevaron de urgencia al veterinario y, tras hacerle analíticas y una ecografía, el diagnóstico fue devastador: una neoplasia (tumor) en la zona entre el intestino delgado y el intestino grueso, muy cerca de la válvula ileocecal. Además, se detectó un ganglio linfático alterado en esa misma zona, lo que podría indicar una diseminación del tumor.

A pesar de lo delicado del caso, todavía hay una posibilidad: si el tumor está localizado y encapsulado, se podría intentar una cirugía para darle a Tobi más tiempo de vida con calidad, sin dolor y sin tratamientos invasivos.

Para saber si eso es posible, necesita urgentemente un TAC abdominal y de torax, que ya está programado para el miércoles 11 de junio. El estudio permitirá confirmar si hay metástasis o si aún hay una oportunidad real de operarlo.

El TAC tiene un coste de 660 €, más 100 € de la consulta con el oncólogo para interpretar los resultados y decidir los siguientes pasos. A esto se suman los 500€ ya gastados en pruebas y medicación inicial, y los gastos actuales de alimentación especial (comida gastrointestinal húmeda) y medicamentos de soporte para mantenerlo estable hasta el día del TAC.

Posteriormente si estos estudios ofrecen garantía que la cirugía es una alternativa adecuada, se enfrentarán a los gastos de cirugía y biopsia que oscilan aproximadamente los 2500€. Ahora mismo van paso a paso, pero es una realidad que todo esto está suponiendo un gran esfuerzo económico para quienes cuidan de Tobi con tanto amor.

Esta campaña nace del deseo de hacer lo correcto: si el TAC muestra que ya hay metástasis, no se alargará su sufrimiento. Pero si hay una posibilidad, Tobi merece intentarlo.

Tobi is a 10-year-old schnauzer who has brought love and companionship to his family every single day of his life. He’s noble, smart, and sweet — the kind of soul who doesn’t need words to be understood. Just having him near brings comfort.

A few days ago, Tobi began vomiting repeatedly. He was taken to the emergency vet, and after tests and an ultrasound, the diagnosis was heartbreaking: a tumor (neoplasia) between the small and large intestine, near the ileocecal valve. A nearby lymph node was also altered, which may indicate the tumor is spreading.

Despite the seriousness of the case, there is still a chance: if the tumor is localized and encapsulated, surgery may be possible to give Tobi more time to live pain-free and without invasive treatment.

To know for sure, he urgently needs an abdominal and thoracic CT scan, already scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th. This scan will confirm whether there are metastases, or if surgery remains a real option.

The CT scan costs €660, plus €100 for the oncology consultation. An additional €500 has already been spent on emergency diagnostics and treatment, along with ongoing costs for special gastrointestinal food and supportive medication to keep Tobi stable until the scan.

If the scan confirms that surgery is appropriate, further costs will follow — surgery and biopsy are estimated at around €2,500.

Right now, Tobi’s caregivers are moving step by step. But all of this represents a significant financial burden for a family that loves him dearly.

This campaign was born out of love and a commitment to do what’s right: if metastasis is confirmed, his suffering will not be prolonged. But if there’s still hope, Tobi deserves a chance.
