El domingo 20 de julio mi hermano sufrió un grave accidente con un tren mientras desempeñaba sus labores para FERROCARRILES DE MÉXICO.

Al caer sobre las vías y percatarse del impacto inminente, mi hermano intentó rodar para evitar ser partido en dos y salvar su vida. Sin embargo, su mano y pierna derechas no lograron evitar ser aplastadas, resultando en una fractura severa en la pierna —con más de 20 fragmentos— y una lesión crítica en la mano. Afortunadamente, sus extremidades no fueron amputadas… por ahora.

Tras el aplastamiento fue auxiliado después de 40 minutos cuando pudieron encontrarlo, consciente en todo momento él mismo pidió ayuda por radio mientras se desangraba.

Fue trasladado a Obregón, Sonora para ser operado en el Hospital General Regional No.1, los cirujanos hicieron un excelente trabajo de reconstrucción, sin embargo su estado seguía siendo crítico.

El Lunes 21 de julio, fue trasladado a un hospital privado por orden de Ferromex para realizar una cirugía de salvamento en la pierna derecha, afortunadamente la cirugía salió bien y pasó los siguientes 4 días en recuperación.

Desafortunadamente la empresa ya no quiso mantenerlo ahí. Fue dado de alta y trasladado al IMSS en Hermosillo antes de realizar una angiotomografía para conocer el estado de sus vasos sanguíneos.

Allí comenzó una etapa de omisiones médicas graves:

Finalmente, el 31 de julio, tras 11 días de incertidumbre y dolor, se le realizó una trombectomía de emergencia que logró liberar los coágulos y restablecer el flujo sanguíneo en su mano.

Pero ya era demasiado tarde para algunos tejidos: la mano presentaba necrosis avanzada, consecuencia directa de la falta de atención oportuna por parte del IMSS.

Milagrosamente, aún tiene movilidad y sensación en todos sus dedos.

A pesar de todo, mi hermano sigue moviendo los dedos de su mano derecha y los del pie, conserva sensibilidad en cada uno. Su cuerpo y él, están luchando por sanar, pero lamentablemente no está recibiendo la atención médica que necesita.

Mi hermano es mucho más que un paciente:

Es un padre amoroso, un esposo comprometido, un hijo ejemplar y un hermano incondicional. Siempre presente para su familia y para quienes lo rodean, ofreciendo su tiempo, su esfuerzo y su corazón sin esperar nada a cambio.

Tiene una hija de 13 años que lo admira profundamente. La idea de que ella lo vea pasar por este proceso tan duro lo rompe, pero también le da fuerza para resistir cada día.

Quienes lo conocen saben que es trabajador, noble, y de un corazón enorme. Hoy, la vida lo puso en una situación tan dolorosa como injusta. Pero no ha perdido su luz, ni su fe. Y nosotros tampoco.

Help to Save My Brother’s Hand and Leg

On Sunday, July 20, my brother suffered a severe accident with a train while working for FERROCARRILES DE MÉXICO.

Upon falling onto the tracks and realizing the imminent impact, my brother tried to roll away to avoid being cut in half and to save his life. However, his right hand and leg couldn’t escape being crushed, resulting in a severe fracture in his leg —with over 20 fragments— and a critical injury to his hand. Fortunately, his limbs were not amputated… for now.

After being crushed, he was found and assisted about 40 minutes later. He remained conscious the entire time and called for help over the radio while bleeding out.

He was transferred to Obregón, Sonora, where he underwent emergency surgery at General Regional Hospital No. 1. The surgeons did excellent work, but his condition remained critical.

The next day, Monday, July 21, Ferromex authorized a transfer to a private hospital for limb-salvage surgery on his right leg. Thankfully, the procedure was successful, and he spent the next four days recovering.

After that, the company declined to continue his private care, and he was discharged and sent to the IMSS public hospital in Hermosillo — before an angiographic scan (angiotomography) could be performed to assess the condition of his blood vessels.

That’s when a series of serious medical omissions began

Finally, on July 31 — after 11 days of uncertainty and pain — he underwent an emergency thrombectomy that successfully cleared clots and restored blood flow to his hand. But for some tissues, it was already too late: his hand had developed advanced necrosis, a direct consequence of the lack of timely medical care at IMSS.

Miraculously, he still has full movement and feeling in all his fingers.

Despite everything, my brother can move his right hand and toes and still feels sensation in each of them. His body — and his will — are fighting to heal, but he is still not receiving the proper medical attention he urgently needs.

He’s a loving father, a devoted husband, an exemplary son, and a loyal brother. Always present for his family and those around him — offering his time, energy, and heart without expecting anything in return.

He has a 13-year-old daughter who deeply admires him. The thought of her witnessing him go through such pain breaks him — but it also gives him the strength to push through every day.

Those who know him describe him as hardworking, kind, and deeply generous. Today, life has placed him in a situation as painful as it is unfair but he has not lost his light or his faith. And neither have we.
