Hola familia, amigos y conocidos:

Con el corazón en la mano y en medio de un profundo dolor, quiero compartir una noticia que ha marcado la vida de mi familia para siempre.

El pasado lunes 18 de agosto de 2025, falleció mi Tio Darwin Villalobos Ferreira con tan solo 39 años en New Albany, Indiana, a causa de un Heat Stroke (derrame cerebral provocado por un golpe de calor extremo). El viernes anterior, Darwin se encontraba trabajando en su nuevo empleo, cuando su cuerpo alcanzó una temperatura crítica de 140°F (60°C) debido a las altas temperaturas de ese día. Fue trasladado de inmediato a cuidados intensivos, donde luchó con fuerza durante tres días, pero el lunes los médicos nos confirmaron lo que más temíamos: su cerebro y órganos ya no respondían. No había nada más que pudieran hacer.

La pérdida de Darwin ha sido devastadora para toda la familia y para todos los que lo conocieron. Era una persona alegre, con un corazón generoso, siempre dispuesto a ayudar, a brindar una palabra de aliento o sacar una sonrisa. Un gran amigo, un hijo ejemplar, un hermano incondicional y un pilar fundamental para su familia. Tenía un vínculo muy especial con su madre, con quien compartía un amor profundo e inquebrantable.

Hoy, en medio de este inmenso dolor, también enfrentamos los altos costos que implica darle a mi Tio Darwin una despedida digna. El mayor deseo de su madre y familiares es poder darle su ultimo adios, llevarlo de regreso a Venezuela, su país natal, para que pueda descansar junto a los suyos y recibir el adiós que merece, rodeado del amor de su madre, su familia y su tierra.

Por eso, acudo a ustedes con humildad, pidiendo su ayuda. Cualquier colaboración, por pequeña que sea, será un alivio inmenso y una muestra de solidaridad que nunca olvidaremos. También les agradecemos profundamente si comparten esta campaña con otras personas que puedan ayudar.

With a heavy heart and in the midst of deep sorrow, I want to share news that has forever changed my family's life.

On Monday, August 18th, 2025, my uncle Darwin Villalobos Ferreira passed away in New Albany, Indiana, due to a heat stroke (a cerebral hemorrhage caused by extreme heat exposure). The previous Friday, Darwin was working at his new job when his body reached a critical temperature of 140°F (60°C) due to the extreme heat that day. He was rushed to intensive care, where he fought for his life for three days. On Monday, doctors gave us the heartbreaking news: his brain and organs had stopped responding, and there was nothing more they could do.

Darwin’s passing has been devastating for our entire family and for everyone who knew him. He was a joyful person, generous at heart, always ready to help, offer kind words, or bring a smile to others. A great friend, a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a pillar of strength for his family. He had a very special bond with his mother, built on a deep and unbreakable love.

Now, in the middle of this pain, we also face the high costs of giving Darwin a dignified farewell. His mother and our family’s greatest wish is to bring him back to Venezuela, his homeland, so he can rest in peace surrounded by his loved ones and receive the farewell he truly deserves.
