Hi, my name is Michel. I am raising funds for my husband, Gabriel David Sánchez Guerrero, who was unexpectedly detained by ICE and has been unjustly held in prison. Gabriel is a hardworking man and our family’s primary provider. After a painful legal battle and faced with the exhaustion of indefinite detention, Gabriel has made the difficult decision to request Voluntary Departure. His only wish now is to regain his freedom and return to his home country, Colombia. The Immigration Judge officially granted this request on January 13, 2026. However, Gabriel has not yet been sent to Colombia. He remains held in the detention center, waiting for flight coordination and logistics for his return. Every day he spends waiting is another day of suffering and uncertainty. Our focus has now shifted to raising funds to support his relocation and his new beginning in Colombia. After this traumatic experience, he will be starting from scratch, and these funds will help cover his basic needs and transportation as he rebuilds his life with dignity. Sin embargo, Gabriel aún no ha sido enviado a Colombia. Él sigue recluido en el centro de detención, esperando a que se coordinen los vuelos y la logística para su retorno. Cada día que pasa en espera es un día más de sufrimiento e incertidumbre. Nuestro enfoque ahora es recaudar fondos para apoyar su reubicación y su nuevo comienzo en Colombia.
