Helps Manuel Herrera (Lung cancer)

My name is Manuel Herrera, I am 63 years old, I am a husband, father of three daughters and I have been a teacher by vocation since 2013 in El Salvador.

In May 2024, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, I underwent surgery to remove a tumor along with my left kidney, weeks after the surgery I received my first treatment of twenty-five radiation sessions to fight the cancer cells in my body. Thank God my right kidney is healthy and I can live with it.

After the 25 radiation sessions, I had a study called PET/CT to review all my organs, due to the metastasis that the kidney cancer had developed and on January 20 of this year 2025 I received the results of that exam. The cancer has returned, now in both lungs, my new diagnosis is stage four lung cancer, and the study showed that the tumor on the side where my left kidney was located has also returned.

And how am I? Optimistic!

I just want to thank from the bottom of my heart all the people who have helped me and my family since May of last year. Thanks to God and to you I am alive.

And this time, I want to ask for your help again from each one of you. My new treatment is called Immunotherapy, since due to my single kidney condition I cannot receive any other treatment. The cost of this treatment, immunotherapy, here in my country El Salvador, is approximately $100,000.00 and can last from 1 to 3 years, depending on how my body improves.

I have a medical insurance called teacher welfare because I am a teacher and work for the Ministry of Education, but the insurance will not cover my new treatment due to the high cost, that is why at this moment I need to get the sum of $10,000.00 to start the treatment (Immunotherapy) and thus receive the first dose of medicine since my current condition (I do not have serious symptoms) makes me the perfect candidate to opt for this treatment.

I am already thankful for the help I am receiving and will receive, thank you for paying attention to these lines and praying for me.

Mi nombre es Manuel Herrera, tengo 63 años de edad, soy esposo, papá de tres hijas y soy profesor por vocación desde el año 2013 en El Salvador.

En el mes de mayo del año 2024, fui diagnosticado con cáncer renal, me sometí a una cirugía para remover un tumor junto con mi riñón izquierdo, semanas después de la cirugía recibí mi primer tratamiento de veinticinco sesiones de radiación para combatir las células cancerígenas en mi cuerpo. Gracias a Dios mi riñón derecho está sano y puedo vivir con él.

Finalizadas las 25 sesiones de radiación, me realizaron un estudio llamado PET/TAC para revisar todos mis órganos, debido a la metástasis que había desarrollado el cáncer renal y el pasado 20 de enero de este año 2025 recibí los resultados de ese examen. El cáncer ha vuelto, ahora en ambos pulmones, mi nuevo diagnóstico es cáncer de pulmón fase cuatro, además el estudio mostró que el tumor del lado donde se ubicaba mi riñón izquierdo también ha vuelto.

¿Y cómo me encuentro yo? ¡Optimista!

Yo sólo quiero agradecer de corazón a todas las personas que desde el mes de mayo del año pasado me ayudaron a mí y a mi familia. Gracias a Dios y a ustedes estoy con vida.

Y esta vez, quiero pedir nuevamente su ayuda a cada de ustedes. Mi nuevo tratamiento se llama Inmunoterapia, ya que debido a mi condición de riñón unitario no puedo recibir otro tratamiento. El costo de este tratamiento, inmunoterapia, aquí en mi país El Salvador, ronda aproximadamente los $100,000.00 y puede durar de 1 a 3 años, dependiente como mi cuerpo mejore.

Yo poseo un seguro médico llamado bienestar magisterial por ser profesor y trabajar para el Ministerio de Educación, pero el seguro no cubrirá mi nuevo tratamiento debido al alto costo, es por eso que en este momento necesito conseguir la suma de $10,000.00 para iniciar el tratamiento (Inmunoterapia) y así recibir la primera dosis de medicina ya que mi estado actual (no tengo síntomas graves) me convierte en el candidato perfecto para optar por este tratamiento.

Desde ya doy gracias por la ayuda que estoy recibiendo y recibiré, gracias por prestar atención a estas líneas y orar por mí.
