Latin American Studies Association (LASA) aprobó mi participación en dos conferencias del próximo evento en París. En ambas, voy a conversar sobre la escritora venezolana Krina Ber y sus valiosos cuentos acerca de lo que significa habitar en diversas ciudades, bajo el contexto de una identidad abierta, desde las palabras, pasando por los mapas y las calles, hasta llegar a los dibujos. Mi ponencia se titula "Krina Ber y el placer de transitar las calles imaginadas en las páginas de un libro" y se incluye en el área de Literatura y Cultura: República y Revolución. Desafortunadamente, este año no estoy entre las personas seleccionadas para el financiamiento de LASA2026. La universidad donde trabajo me dará un aporte como Lecturer, pero el monto no es suficiente para pagar el pasaje y mi estadía. ¿Pueden ayudarme? Como venezolana, como migrante, como periodista, como escritora, como madre de dos chicos valientes y como profesora desde hace más de 25 años, valoraría mucho cualquier aporte que ustedes pudieran brindarme. ¡Mil gracias!

The Latin American Studies Association (LASA) has approved my participation in two panels at the upcoming conference in Paris. In both, I will be discussing the Venezuelan writer Krina Ber and her valuable stories about what it means to live and move through diverse cities, with a malleable identity, through words, maps, streets, and drawings. My presentation, titled "Krina Ber and the Pleasure of Walking the Imagined Streets in the Pages of a Book," is in the Literature and Culture track of the LASA2026 Congress: Republic and Revolution. Unfortunately, I am not among those selected for LASA funding this year. The university where I work will support me as a Lecturer, but this is not enough to cover my travel and accommodation expenses. Can you help me? As a Venezuelan, a migrant, a journalist, a writer, a mother of two brave children, and a teacher with over 25 years of experience, I would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make.
