Informe de la situación

"En el día de hoy hemos podido acceder al colegio y hemos podido hacer una primera valoración de la situación. No hay palabras para describir la tragedia que hemos presenciado en la población. Seguro que de esta, vamos a levantarnos todos juntos.

Respecto al colegio, el estado en el que se encuentra la planta baja y el semisótano, es el mismo que he visto en muchas casas. El agua ha entrado con fuerza y ha derribado tabiques, arrasado aulas y cocina, y llenado de fango y escombros toda el área de dirección, secretaría, comedor, cocina y aulas de FP. Las aulas de infantil de 1r ciclo están llenas de materiales arrastrados por el agua y en el patio del cole se acumulan toneladas de residuos (incluyendo un coche volcado). El semisótano se encuentra totalmente inundado y estamos buscando la forma de conseguir que un camión bomba o los propios bomberos, acudan para vaciarlo.

El proceso va a ser largo pero vamos a poner todos los medios y voluntades para que el colegio pueda hacer lo que debe hacer: llenarse hasta el borde de niños, niñas, chicos y chicas.

No solo hemos tenido daños materiales, hemos perdido a miembros de nuestra comunidad educativa, familiares de nuestros alumnos. Tenemos el corazón roto, igual que cada vez que veíamos las cifras de muertos y desparecidos subir, rezando para que cuando volvamos a las aulas, no nos falte nadie.

Por ello, necesitamos AYUDA para volver a devolver la ilusión a nuestros alumnos, familias y comunidad educativa en general. NECESITAMOS abrir cuanto antes las puertas del cole con la mayor normalidad posible, y para ello, hace falta un gran apoyo del tipo económico y material.

GRACIAS. Sin vosotros, voluntarios y donantes, no sería posible y no estaríamos viendo la luz al final de tanto fango.

Situation report

‘Today we have been able to access the school and we have been able to make a first assessment of the situation. There are no words to describe the tragedy we have witnessed in the town. We are sure that we will all rise from this disaster together.

As for the school, the state of the ground floor and the semi-basement is the same as I have seen in many houses. The water has entered with force and has knocked down walls, washed away classrooms and kitchen, and filled with mud and debris the whole area of the management, secretary's office, dining room, kitchen and vocational training classrooms. The 1st cycle infant classrooms are full of materials washed away by the water and the school playground is full of tons of rubbish (including an overturned car). The semi-basement is completely flooded and we are looking for a way to get a pump truck or the fire brigade to come and empty it.

It is going to be a long process but we are going to do everything we can to make sure that the school can do what it should do: fill to the brim with children, boys and girls.

A big hug to everyone and together we will get through this’.

We have not only suffered material damage, we have lost members of our educational community, relatives of our students. We are heartbroken, just as we are every time we see the numbers of dead and missing people rise, praying that when we go back to the classrooms, no one will be missing.

Therefore, we need HELP to restore the hope of our pupils, families and the educational community in general. We NEED to open the doors of the school as soon as possible with as much normality as possible, and for this, we need a great economic and material support.
