My name is Perla Dinarte.
Not long ago, my husband suffered a stroke that changed our lives completely. He and I both worked to support our home and provide for our 13-year-old daughter. But now, he is hospitalized, fighting every day to recover.
We are a migrant family, and we have no relatives nearby who can help us during this emergency. His treatment and rehabilitation are extremely expensive. Despite working as a hotel cleaner, my income is not enough to cover his medications, therapies, and basic needs such as rent, food, and utilities. For the first time, we’ve reached a point where we must ask for help.
It is not easy for us to turn to others. We are a hardworking family, used to getting by with effort and dignity. But this emergency came without warning, and today we find ourselves needing the solidarity of the community and the kindness of others to get through it.
My husband wants to walk again, to return to work, to be the father and partner he has always been. I just want our daughter to see her dad recover and come back home.
Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to that hope.
Your prayers, encouraging words, and support mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for sharing it, and for helping us in any way you can.
Thank you for keeping hope alive.
