Help Eclipse Beauty Salon survive the crisis

My name is not the most important thing. What matters most are my daughters.

I am a strong, hardworking woman and the mother of two underage girls. I do everything possible to keep my family together and safe. They depend on me. I am their only source of emotional and financial support.

I also support my mother in Mexico. She suffers from epilepsy and, a few months ago, she suffered a stroke that completely changed her life. Since then, she has needed a wheelchair; her left arm and leg no longer function, and she cannot walk. The money I send her is used to pay for her medications and cover her most basic needs. Without my support, she would not have a way to survive.

Today, I am going through one of the most difficult moments of my life.

I own a small beauty salon on Lake Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This salon has been my only source of income and the livelihood of my entire family, as well as the families of my work team. Thanks to this beauty salon, I have been able to care for my daughters, pay the rent for our home, cover utilities, pay the rent for the salon, and support my mother in Mexico.

Unfortunately, due to the recent ICE raids on Lake Street, I was forced to temporarily close the salon for the safety of my clients, my work team, and myself. ICE vehicles have been present in nearby parking lots and patrolling all of Lake Street. From one day to the next, I was left without income, but the expenses, bills, rent, and responsibilities did not stop.

This is not the first time my small business has been affected. On January 12, 2025, my salon was the victim of a robbery. That day, I was left emotionally and financially devastated. Even so, I continued forward because I had no other choice: the lives of my daughters and the families of my work team depend on this salon.

My salon is not just a business.
It is our livelihood.
It is our hope.
It is what allows us to keep fighting.

At home, I also care for my two pets, Luna and Marinette, who are part of my family. Luna suffers from epilepsy, and her medication is vital to her life. If she misses even one dose, she suffers very strong seizures that can only be stopped by taking her to the emergency hospital. The medication is very expensive, but even in the most difficult moments, I do everything possible to make sure Luna receives the treatment she needs.

At night, I can barely sleep. I cry in silence, filled with fear, helplessness, and terror. I constantly think about what would happen to my daughters if something were to happen to me. I think about my sick mother, so far away. I think about my dogs, especially Luna, who depends on me. I also think about my work team, because their families depend on the salon to survive.

Today, I am struggling to pay for:

The rent for my home

The rent and utilities for my salon

Basic necessities and food

The medications and needs of my sick mother

The situation affecting the Minneapolis community has deeply impacted my life, my livelihood, and the families of my work team. Everything changed from one moment to the next. I fear for my safety, the safety of my team, and above all, the safety of my young daughters (and also Luna and Marinette).

I am physically and emotionally exhausted. I am afraid of an uncertain future.
But I remain standing for my daughters, because I am their support and the only thing they have.

As a mother, asking for help is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I have always been the one who fights, who moves forward, who never gives up. But today, with humility and hope, I raise my voice to ask for support.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help us to:

Keep a roof over my daughters’ heads

Support my sick mother

Cover basic necessities

Have the opportunity to reopen my salon and return to work, since many families depend on it

If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign. That is also a great help.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, solidarity, and kindness.
May God bless you.
All the funds that are raised will be for rent payments and bills and expenses of the salon during these two months that we have been temporarily closing and to help the families of the work team. Each donation is appreciated.
