Hi my name is Sol Gomez, I’m a mother of two, a happy 6 year old girl and playful 3 years old boy. Our life was normal, so to speak, until last January which is when my 3 year old son, Rodrigo, was diagnosed with leukemia. We couldn’t understand, nor accept that our little boy had leukemia. Our world was completely crashed. Our little girl had to be without her brother and her mother, she couldn’t understand what was happening. I was angry, desperate. I kept asking God why my kid and why my, what I had done wrong. It’ll be a year very soon since Rodrigo was diagnosed. We’ve learned to live with him being sick, medications have changed his personality drastically . We have hope that he’ll defeat leukemia and grow up to become a man. Thankfully,Rodrigo was accepted at Maria Fareri Hospital where he’s being treated all this time. Doctors have told us that he’s strong and will be cured . Unfortunately, he requires care all day long, so I had to quit my job to take care of him. While most of his treatment is free occasionally there’re some exceptions. My husband’s become the only provider for our family which have led us into a very harsh situation. We’re immigrants and despite both of my kids being born here there’s very few resources to reach. That’s why we’re very grateful for having the help of Maria Fareri Hospital. If you like to help us we’ll be eternally grateful, we understand the situarnos hard for most people and that why we appreciate anything that you’d like to help us with. Mi nombre es Sol Gómez. Soy la madre de dos niños, una niña juguetona de seis años y un niño de tres. Nuestra vida era normal, por así decirlo, hasta el pasado enero que fue cuando diagnosticaron a mi hijo Rodrigo con leucemia. No podíamos entender ni aceptar que nuestro niño tuviera leucemia. Nuestra niña tenía que quedarse sin su mamá y sin su hermanito sin poder entender porque. Estaba furiosa y desesperada, sólo podía preguntarle a Dios porque mi hijo, porque yo, que es lo que había hecho mal. Pronto será un año desde que Rodrigo fue diagnosticado. Hemos aprendido a vivir con su enfermedad, los medicamentos han cambiado su personalidad drásticamente. Tenemos esperanza que va a poder combatir su enfermedad. Gracias a Dios hemos contado con la ayuda de Maria Fareri hospital adonde a sido tratado desde el inicio. Los doctores nos dan muchas esperanzas y nos dicen que va a sanar y ser un niño normal. Desafortunadamente necesita cuidado las 24 horas del día para mi trabajo para poder cuidar de él por completo. La mayoría de su tratamiento descubierto por el hospital pero en algunas Ocasiones hay algunas excepciones. Convertirse en el único proveedor para nuestra familia lo cual nos ha llevado a una situación muy difícil. Ambos somos inmigrantes y aunque mis dos hijos son nacidos aquí solamente hay ciertos recursos a los cuales tenemos acceso. Es por ello que estamos muy agradecidos con el hospital Maria Fareri. Si desean ayudarlo es mi familia y yo estaremos eternamente agradecidos nosotros entendemos que la situación es actualmente muy crítica para todos por eso es que verdaderamente apreciamos cualquier gesto de generosidad con mi pequeñito Rodrigo.
