In the early morning of Friday March 12th, the Rivera home was destroyed by an electrical fire. Fortunately, all the members of the family were able to evacuate the home safely but the majority of their belongings, memories and important documents were consumed by the fire since they only had time to evacuate with the clothes they were wearing to bed.
We hope to raise some funds to help Gilberto, his wife Olga and their son Jesus get back on their feet. These kinds of devastating events can cause tremendous emotional and financial distress as well as instability as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Nobody can prepare to deal with and navigate something like this, especially during a pandemic. We understand that these are hard times for everyone and the Rivera family is very grateful for any donations.

En la madrugada del viernes 12 de marzo, la casa de la familia Rivera fue destruida por un incendio eléctrico. Afortunadamente, todos los miembros de la familia pudieron evacuar la casa de manera segura pero la mayoría de sus pertenencias, recuerdos y documentos importantes fueron consumidos por el fuego ya que solo tuvieron tiempo de evacuar con la ropa que vestían mientras dormian.
