La historia de Jana

Yo soy Emilio, papá de Jana, una perrita de 5 años. Ella llegó conmigo en la pandemia y ha sido profundamente importante en mi vida, porque sin su compañía me hubiera sido muy complicado sobrellevar la partida de mi papá hace unos años.

Jana es un ser lleno de luz: solamente irradia amor. Ha convivido con personas con parálisis cerebral y frecuentemente comparte tiempo con personas autistas. A pesar de no haber sido entrenada, tiene una energía natural que brinda calma y soporte emocional a cualquier ser humano. Incluso ha ayudado a pacientes con autismo a mejorar sus habilidades de psicomotricidad.

Este año, en abril, Jana fue diagnosticada con cáncer. Lo primero que noté fue que dejó de mover sus patitas posteriores; después descubrimos que era debido a un tumor en la médula espinal. Tras realizar estudios, confirmaron la presencia de cáncer. Afortunadamente, ya se le realizó la cirugía para remover el tumor.

El siguiente paso es darle radioterapia. Su diagnóstico de patología es un Sarcoma de células fusiformes, un tipo de cáncer que, según sus veterinarios, responde muy bien a este tratamiento, con excelentes probabilidades de sobrevivir.

El único lugar donde se ofrece este servicio es en la ciudad de Guadalajara, por lo que el plan es trasladarla desde la CDMX para que pueda recibir la radioterapia que le salvará la vida.

Jana y yo estamos profundamente agradecidos por el tiempo que se han tomado en leer nuestra historia y por cualquier apoyo que puedan brindarnos. Cada granito de ayuda significa esperanza y vida para ella.

Jana’s Story

My name is Emilio, and I’m Jana’s dad. Jana is 5 years young and she came into my life during the pandemic. At a time when I was grieving the loss of my father, her presence became my greatest source of comfort. She carried me through one of the hardest transitions of my life simply by being there, radiating love.

Jana is more than a pet, she’s a companion, a healer, and a light to everyone she meets. Without any training, she has an extraordinary gift: people feel safe around her. She has spent time with people with cerebral palsy and regularly interacts with children and adults on the autism spectrum. I’ve seen her inspire autistic patients to develop their motor skills and bring calm to those carrying heavy emotions. Jana has an energy that speaks directly to the heart.

This past April, our world changed when Jana was diagnosed with cancer. The first sign was that she could no longer move her back legs. Tests revealed a tumor in her spinal cord, later confirmed as cancer. Jana underwent surgery to remove it, and she faced it with the same courage and sweetness that define her.

The next crucial step is radiotherapy. Her diagnosis is Spindle Cell Sarcoma, a form of cancer that responds very well to this treatment, giving her an excellent chance of survival. The challenge is that this therapy is only available in Guadalajara, which means traveling from Mexico City so she can receive the care she urgently needs.

Jana has given so much love to me and to many others. With your support, Jana can continue to shine her light, bringing joy, comfort, and healing to everyone lucky enough to know her.
