Ayuda a Ivana a escuchar de nuevo

Queremos compartir con ustedes una actualización llena de gratitud y esperanza.

Iniciamos esta recaudación con el objetivo de cubrir al menos la mitad del costo total del implante+receptor+cirugía para implantar a Ivana. Gracias a la increíble solidaridad y generosidad de más de 350 personas que se sumaron a esta causa, hoy podemos decir que superamos la meta.

Ivana fue implantada exitosamente el pasado 12 de marzo y ha comenzado la etapa de adaptación del receptor y las terapias. Aunque este proceso tomará algunos meses, será lo que le permitirá recuperar la capacidad de oír.

Cada oración, cada donación, cada mensaje de apoyo y sus muestras de cariño han hecho una gran diferencia; Ivana y su familia estamos profundamente agradecidos por demostrar que juntos podemos lograr cosas extraordinarias.

We want to share with you an update filled with gratitude and hope.

We started this fundraising campaign with the goal of covering at least half of the total cost of the implant, receiver, and surgery for Ivana. Thanks to the incredible solidarity and generosity of more than 350 people who joined this cause, we can now say that we have surpassed our goal.

Ivana was successfully implanted on March 12th and has begun the adaptation phase of the receiver and therapies. Although this process will take a few months, it will enable her to regain the ability to hear.

Every prayer, every donation, every message of support, and your expressions of love have made a significant difference. Ivana and her family are deeply grateful for showing that together we can achieve extraordinary things.

Hola, somos Kristel y Josué, los padres de Ivana. Nuestra hija de 10 años es una niña llena de vida que ama los deportes, la música y estar con sus amigos. Sin embargo, hace un año, debido a una grave infección de influenza, Ivana perdió la audición de su oído derecho de manera permanente (hipoacusia profunda).

Después de intentar todo para salvar su audición, nos dijeron que la única solución es un implante coclear. Lamentablemente, nuestro seguro rechazó cubrir el costo del implante y, aunque lo impugnamos, sólo logramos que cubran parte de los gastos hospitalarios, que son una fracción mínima del costo total.

El costo del implante coclear, junto con los gastos hospitalarios y honorarios médicos supera la cantidad de 1 millón de pesos. Hemos reunido una parte con ahorros y préstamos, pero aún necesitamos recaudar $500,000 pesos para cubrir parte del implante y gastos posteriores a la cirugía.

Esta situación ha sido muy retadora para todos, sin embargo, Ivana es una chica valiente, resiliente, con una super actitud y aún le queda mucho por escuchar y aprender

Hello, we are Kristel and Josué, Ivana's parents. Our 10-year-old daughter is a lively girl who loves sports, music, and spending time with her friends. However, a year ago, due to a severe influenza infection, Ivana permanently lost the hearing in her right ear (profound hearing loss).

After trying everything to save her hearing, we were told that the only solution is a cochlear implant. Unfortunately, our insurance refused to cover the cost of the implant, and although we appealed, we only managed to get them to cover part of the hospital expenses, which are a minimal fraction of the total cost.

The cost of the cochlear implant, along with hospital expenses and medical fees, exceeds 1 million pesos (~$50K USD). We have gathered part of the amount through savings and loans, but we still need to raise $500,000 pesos (~$23K USD) to cover part of the implant and post-surgery expenses.

This situation has been very challenging for all of us, but Ivana is a brave, resilient girl with a great attitude, and she still has so much to hear and learn. Any donation will be of great help. If you cannot donate, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share this message with your friends and family.
