Mi nombre es Maria Alejandra Jerez, y hoy me encuentro pidiendo ayuda para mi papá, quien está luchando contra una reincidencia de cáncer de laringe. En el año 2021 fue diagnosticado con carcinoma epidermoide metastásico, y tras un tratamiento inicial, hoy enfrenta nuevamente esta dura enfermedad pero ahora con un tumor infiltrante.

Hace unas semanas, mi papá tuvo que recibir traqueostomía y gastrostomía, y poco después sufrió una infección severa con bacteria hospitalaria que casi lo lleva a una sepsis. Logró sobrevivir gracias a los cuidados recibidos, pero su estado sigue siendo muy delicado.

Situación médica actual

Los estudios de imagen recientes muestran:

Lesión tumoral sólida y heterogénea en el cuello (nivel II izquierdo) que infiltra músculos, glándula submaxilar y se extiende a niveles III y V.

Engrosamiento de la glotis y laringe supraglótica, con estrechamiento del lumen que compromete su respiración.

Engrosamiento de tejidos blandos y musculares, en parte por efectos de tratamientos previos.

Esto confirma que el cáncer está avanzado y en recaída, comprometiendo estructuras críticas del cuello.

Tratamiento urgente que necesita

Para seguir luchando, mi papá debe:

Recibir quimioterapia de infusión continua durante 6 días bajo hospitalización.

Someterse luego a una cirugía de alta complejidad en cabeza y cuello, que no se puede realizar en el estado Trujillo porque aquí no hay un cirujano especialista.

Recibir cuidados diarios de enfermería, ya que su herida de traqueostomía aún no ha cicatrizado y necesita limpieza, monitoreo y atención constante.

¿Por qué pedimos ayuda?

Los gastos de las cirugías de traqueostomía y gastrostomía, junto con la hospitalización por la infección bacteriana, han mermado casi por completo los ahorros de nuestra familia.

A esto se suma que mi papá vive en Venezuela, donde las condiciones del país hacen aún más compleja y costosa la atención médica, con limitaciones de especialistas, infraestructura hospitalaria y acceso a tratamientos.

Actualmente no contamos con los recursos necesarios para cubrir:

Hospitalización en un centro seguro.

Quimioterapia especializada.

Traslado y cirugía fuera del estado.

Atención de enfermeras particulares y medicinas.

Cada día cuenta. Sin este tratamiento y cuidados, su vida está en riesgo.

Urgent treatment needed To continue fighting, my father must: Receive continuous infusion chemotherapy for six days while hospitalized. Then undergo highly complex head and neck surgery, which cannot be performed in Trujillo state because there is no specialist surgeon there. Receive daily nursing care, as his tracheostomy wound has not yet healed and requires cleaning, monitoring, and constant care. Why are we asking for help? The costs of the tracheostomy and gastrostomy surgeries, along with hospitalization for the bacterial infection, have almost completely depleted our family's savings. Added to this is the fact that my father lives in Venezuela, where the country's conditions make medical care even more complex and expensive, with limited specialists, hospital infrastructure, and access to treatment. Currently, we do not have the necessary resources to cover: Hospitalization in a secure facility. Specialized chemotherapy. Transfer and surgery out of state. Private nursing care and medication.
