Mi nombre es Andreína Urbina, y hoy me veo en la necesidad de abrir mi corazón y compartir uno de los momentos más dolorosos que he vivido.

Hace apenas unos días di a luz a nuestra hija. Debería estar viviendo días llenos de ilusión, descanso en brazos de mi compañero y la alegría de comenzar esta nueva etapa como familia. Y aunque el nacimiento de nuestra bebé fue un momento lleno de amor, esa felicidad se vio interrumpida muy pronto.

Mi pareja, mi compañero de vida, estuvo presente en el nacimiento de nuestra hija. Me sostuvo la mano, me dio fuerzas y lloró conmigo cuando escuchamos su primer llanto. Fue un momento que jamás olvidaremos.

Una semana después del nacimiento de nuestra bebé, él acudió responsablemente a su cita anual programada con ICE, como lo había hecho anteriormente, confiando en que estaba cumpliendo con lo que le correspondía. Ese día, en lugar de regresar a casa con nosotras, fue detenido.

Desde entonces, mi realidad cambió por completo.

Hoy me encuentro atravesando el posparto, con el cuerpo aún recuperándose, con las emociones a flor de piel, cuidando sola a una recién nacida que necesita a su padre tanto como a su madre. Hay noches en las que el silencio pesa más que el cansancio. Hay momentos en los que sostengo a mi bebé en brazos y siento la profunda ausencia de quien debería estar a mi lado compartiendo cada pequeño logro, cada lágrima, cada sonrisa.

A todo esto se suma la angustia por la salud de su madre, quien está luchando contra el cáncer. Él no solo es su hijo, es su apoyo emocional y su sostén económico. Su ausencia ha dejado un vacío inmenso en un momento en el que ella más lo necesita.

La separación repentina ha sido devastadora para nuestra familia. Nuestra hija apenas comienza su vida y ya enfrenta la ausencia de su padre. Yo intento mantenerme fuerte por ella, pero el miedo, la tristeza y la incertidumbre muchas veces me sobrepasan.

Hoy recurro con humildad a la solidaridad de quienes puedan apoyarnos. En este momento, la mayor necesidad son los gastos legales y los honorarios de abogados, indispensables para poder luchar por su caso y por la oportunidad de que regrese a casa con su familia. Cada aporte representa una posibilidad más de defender sus derechos y mantenernos unidos.

My name is Andreína Urbina, and today I find myself needing to open my heart and share one of the most painful moments of my life.

Just a few days ago, I gave birth to our daughter. I should be living days filled with joy, rest in the arms of my partner, and the happiness of beginning this new chapter as a family. And although the birth of our baby was a moment full of love, that happiness was interrupted far too soon.

My partner, my life companion, was present at the birth of our daughter. He held my hand, gave me strength, and cried with me when we heard her first cry. It is a moment we will never forget.

One week after our baby was born, he responsibly attended his scheduled annual appointment with ICE, as he had done before, trusting that he was doing what was required of him. That day, instead of returning home to us, he was detained.

Since then, my reality has completely changed.

I am now going through postpartum recovery, still healing physically and emotionally, while caring alone for a newborn who needs her father just as much as her mother. There are nights when the silence feels heavier than the exhaustion. There are moments when I hold my baby in my arms and deeply feel the absence of the person who should be beside me, sharing every small milestone, every tear, every smile.

On top of everything, we are also carrying the worry for his mother’s health, as she is currently battling cancer. He is not only her son, but also her emotional and financial support. His absence has left an immense void during a time when she depends on him the most.

This sudden separation has been devastating for our family. Our daughter has just begun her life, and she is already facing the absence of her father. I try to stay strong for her, but the fear, sadness, and uncertainty often feel overwhelming.

Today, I humbly turn to the solidarity of those who may be able to support us. At this moment, our greatest need is to cover legal expenses and attorney fees, which are essential to fight his case and give him the opportunity to return home to his family. Every contribution represents another chance to defend his rights and keep our family together.
