Hi! My name is Julieta, I’m from Mexico, and for the past few months I’ve been doing everything I can to support my friend Bashar AbdelHadi and his family in Gaza.

They are 9 people in total — Bashar, his parents, four younger siblings, his older brother, and his cousin — and they have lost everything: their home, their stability, and their sense of safety. Today, they are living in improvised tents without reliable access to clean water, food, or medical care.

Bashar once shared something that broke me:

“I was next to my cousin when he was shot. The bullets were hitting the ground under my feet. It was a terrible day.”

His cousin was shot in the leg while chasing a truck carrying humanitarian aid — something considered “theft” there, but what choice do they have when there’s no food? At the nearest hospital, they only took photos of the wound and put a cast on it, telling him to wait until a doctor is available.

As if that weren’t enough, Bashar has been suffering from a severe dental infection for months. He’s been taking medication, but without proper medical care, the pain keeps him awake at night.

And yet, despite everything, he keeps fighting — with a humility that humbles me deeply. Recently he told me:

“I don’t want to be a burden on you. I just hope for a better future, to protect my family, and for the war to end safely.”

This campaign aims to raise funds to cover their most urgent needs for the coming months:

• Food and clean water for 9 people

• Medicines and emergency medical care (including treatment for Bashar’s severe dental infection and his cousin’s gunshot wound)

• Warm clothing, blankets, and essential items to survive the winter

• Transportation and communication to keep them safe

The initial goal is 250,000 MXN (~$14,000 USD), but their real needs go far beyond that. If we surpass this goal, any additional funds will help sustain them for longer and ensure they receive proper medical treatment as well as helping them rebuild their lives. Their house has been completely destroyed in North Gaza.

Every single donation matters. Just $110 USD (~2,000 MXN) is enough to feed all of them for a full day and maybe even get essential medicine.

Hola! Me llamo Julieta, soy mexicana, y desde hace meses estoy ayudando -como puedo- a mi amigo Bashar AbdelHadi y a su familia en Gaza.

Son 9 personas: Bashar, sus padres, 4 hermanos pequeños, un hermano mayor y su primo, que han perdido todo: su casa, su estabilidad y su seguridad. Hoy viven en tiendas improvisadas, sin acceso constante a agua potable, comida o atención medica.

Bashar me contó algo que me marcó:

"Estaba al lado de mi primo cuando le dispararon. Las balas pasaban bajo mis pies. Fue un día terrible". A su primo le dispararon en la pierna mientras perseguían un camión con cargamento de ayuda, esto está mal visto porque se considera como “hurto”, pero ¿qué otra opción tienen cuando no hay qué comer?Al llevarlo al hospital más cercano lo único que hicieron fue tomarle fotografías a la herida, y enyesarlo hasta que lo vea un doctor.

Por si esto fuera poco, Bashar padece de una infección en un diente desde hace meses, ha tomado medicamento pero no tienen atención médica adecuada y le sigue doliendo mucho por las noches.

A pesar de todo esto, sigue luchando con una humildad que desarma. Hace poco me dijo: "No quiero ser una carga para ti. Solo espero un futuro mejor, para proteger a mi familia y que la guerra termine de manera segura"

Esta campaña busca reunir fondos para cubrir sus necesidades básicas durante los próximos meses:

El monto inicial de la campaña es de 250,000 MXN, pero las necesidades reales superan esa cifra. Si logramos rebasarla, el excedente servirá para sostenerlos por más tiempo y garantizarles atención médica, además de ayudarles a reconstruir sus vidas, su casa fue completamente destrozada al norte de Gaza.

Cada peso cuenta. $2,000 MXN al día son suficientes para alimentarlos a todos y quizá hasta conseguir algún medicamento.

Cada donación es un acto de solidaridad, dignidad y resistencia humana frente a una tragedia que no debería existir.
