Hello fellow animal lovers. Thanks to all of you, Ayla was able to get her left hip replaced in April of 2024. Her surgery was a success and Ayla has spent the last 9 months healing, gaining strength, and discovering all of those puppy abilities she didn't realize she had. However, she isn't out of the dark yet and it is now time for Ayla to have her right hip replaced. The cost of the surgery is $9975. This is where you can help. We have just under one month to raise the funds Ayla needs to balance out her hips, making it possible to live a strong, happy, doggy life. To be able to play with her friends, hike trails and romp in the snow without pain or struggle.
For those of you who don't know who Ayla is, she is the rescue pup of my dear friend Logynn. Ayla, her many siblings, and her mother were surrendered to a rescue group in Oklahoma shortly after Ayla was born. A couple of months later, Logynn adopted her and took her home to Colorado. As she began to grow, Logynn started to notice a sway in Ayla's walk. What could have been taken as the sashay of a sassy teenage pup, was soon discovered to be severe hip dysplasia; severe enough that Ayla was in need of a double hip replacement. Her hip sockets were so shallow, they were almost nonexistent. There was really nothing holding her femurs in place as she walked. Just shy of being 12 months old, Ayla was already at the point of laying down on her walks because she was exhausted from the effort it took. Without surgery, Ayla, an otherwise perfectly healthy pup, would become lame, struggle to sit and stand or be unable to walk. But all of you, with your donations, helped prevent that and have set Ayla on the path of a pain free life. Let us, the animal loving community, come together again, and help Ayla get that second surgery. If everyone can donate just a little bit, we can all help Ayla.
