On Wednesday, June 14, I received a call from one of my Tennessee Oncology Staff Members, Krissie Carter, that her 18-Year-Old daughter, Cecilia Carter, was involved in an ATV accident. As a result, Cecilia sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported via Life Flight to Skyline Medical Center.
It is with an utterly heavy heart that I write on Friday, June 16 at 1:27am, Cecilia succumbed to her injuries and gained her angel wings. Cecilia’s legacy doesn’t stop here. She will live on not only through everyone’s stories and memories, but she was able to be an organ donor and bless other families with the gift of life. Cecilia will be a piece of the puzzle in someone else’s story and left this world a hero.
Cecilia has left Krissie and family with the greatest blessing of all, her 2-Month-Old son Bentley. Bentley will grow to be a wonderful young man and will remember his mom and how much she loved him through them.
There are no words to explain the pain and sorrow that Krissie and her family are feeling with this sudden loss. We are all deeply saddened by this tragedy and want to help in any way possible. With this unexpected loss comes unexpected expense. Any funds raised will not only help with arrangements but will also assist Krissie with the caring of Cecilia’s beautiful baby boy, Bentley.
