Brittany’s Journey

Hi. My name is Brittany, on February 12th while showering I felt a lump on my right breast, the following morning I scheduled a well woman exam with my PCP. I had that exam on February 14 and my mammogram and ultrasound on February 28th, had a breast biopsy on March 7th, and March 14, 2024 I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer.

Throughout life, I’ve been healthy. I’m a mother of 4 beautiful children, Alijah (14), Kori’Ann (10), Bryson (6) and Isaiah (4). And like many young women I never thought I’d find myself in this position. From the moment I found the lump it’s been a mental battle and emotional roller coaster. As someone who’s lost many loved ones to a variety of cancers that fear of, “Am I going to live?” Has invaded my mind. I suddenly find myself in a rush to do things I thought I had more time to do. Filled with regret of things I should have done but didn’t.

Of my four children I only have parental support for one so you can imagine the financial struggles that I am already facing especially with inflation on literally EVERYTHING. Since I’ve been healthy my entire life I’ve always opted to the high deductible option when choosing my health insurance because I rarely have to go to the doctors outside of routine exams.

I am asking for help with raising this money to help with medical costs as well as help at home. Anything helps.
