If you're reading this, you most likely have some connection to me, whether we just met once, or we see each other every day. I want to thank you for being a part of my life and I am excited to share with you the next important chapter of my journey.
Last year, I went with a team for 3 weeks to the island of Sri Lanka to meet, encourage, and serve the people there. Sri Lanka went through a 26 year long civil war that ended in 2009 and a tsunami in 2004 that killed over 35,000 and displaced over 500,000 people. Our team felt the need to connect with these people and serve them in whatever way they need. The trip was amazing, so many people were filled with joy and inspired to make a difference in the world.
Amongst other things, our team led workshops, where we taught children dance, art, acting, and music in the context of worship. Our team believes that Jesus Christ is who He says He is, that through knowing Him we are set free to live as we are created to live. Through these workshops, we were able to share with many people this great news, and many people's lives were transformed.
We were asked to come again to lead workshops, Bible studies, and visit children's homes. I cannot imagine all the incredible things that will take place on this trip after everything that happened last year. I have made lasting friendships with these people, and they have shared the impact that our team made on their church, their generations, and the nation as a whole.
Last year, I chose to pay for as much of the trip as possible with the income I had from my job. This time around, I am so eager to invite as many people as I can into this experience. There is something amazing happening and I want you to be apart. I am requesting that you pray for the people in Sri Lanka, that they would experience peace. For our team, that we would be in a constant state of praising God, and that we would be aware of what our role is in these people's lives. Thank you for your financial support, it will go directly to my airfare,
