Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life.
My stepson, John Morgan, Jr. has suffered a triple whammy since May. The first was the death of his father, being at increased risk of contracting the Corona Virus due to life long complications of unexplained medical conditions, and the final ‘kick ‘em while they are down – one, two punch’: the home he shared with his father in Berry Creek was described by the Modena Bee like this: “Berry Creek, a secluded rural area of about 1,200 people, was in ashen ruins Wednesday, hours after a midnight firestorm and frantic evacuation.”
Johnny Jr. desperately needs ourhelp to rebuild his life. Imagine this young man’s life right now. Your house is in ‘ashen ruins’. Your father that was your rock during all your life trials and medical issues – gone. Your own body won’t even be true to you and at a moment’s notice will fold into aches and agonizing pains which nobody can even explain to you why or what will relieve you.
Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life. To this day, Johnny has not been able to get a diagnosis of what we/he can do for his medical problems. Because of this, Johnny’s only income is Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) because he cannot hold a job due to his condition because at any time he might be hospitalized. At the time of this writing, Johnny is in the hospital.
Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life. Thehouse and sheds that he inherited from his father were not insured. This means that he has nothing but the love of his family left after this horrible set of tragedies.
John Morgan, Sr. tragically died at the end of May adding more grief for his son, daughters, grandsons, and family during an already difficult time with the current pandemic. In a cruel twist of fate, John Sr.’s home, which he shared with his son, John Jr. (aka John John or Johnny) is located in Berry Creek. On September 8, 2020, Emergency Evacuation Orders were issued and John Jr., as well as the rest of his small town, frantically gathered whatever belongings they could carry or pack to evacuate their homes.
Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life. Imagine the horror of not knowing when or if you will ever be able to return to your home, much less whether your home will even be there when you return. Regrettably, whatever John Jr. was unable to salvage on his hasty escape was burnt to dust. No one could have predicted this misfortune.
See below for a condensed article from the Modena Bee.
Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life. John loved his family and was the first to extend a helping hand or be there to support his children any way he could. His children have struggled to come to grips with his unexpected death. Among all his children, John Jr. would be affected the most. Not because he loved or was loved more than the rest but because John Jr. continued to be medically, physically, and emotionally dependent on John Sr.
Johnny Jr. desperately needs our help to rebuild his life. Since his youth, John Jr. has been in and out of medical facilities, been administered multiple tests, exams, hospitalizations, and diagnoses yet there has yet to be a conclusive diagnosis for the myriad of gastrointestinal disorders that John Jr. has suffered from all his life. I met John Morgan, Sr. when I was just a child myself of age 18 and welcomed Johnny into my arms as I would if he was mine because by that time I did consider him mine.
According to the Modena Bee, Bear Fire updates: ‘Berry Creek is gone’ as fire explodes to 250K acres, Oroville still under threat
The Bear Fire burning in Northern California exploded Tuesday night and into Wednesday, destroying the rural Berry Creek community above Lake Oroville in Butte County, and prompting evacuation orders for at least 20,000 people lower down the hill in the Oroville area and surrounding towns.
Berry Creek, a secluded rural area of about 1,200 people, was in ashen ruins Wednesday, hours after a midnight firestorm and frantic evacuation.
“I’ve only seen three homes left standing,” said Sacramento Bee photographer Jason Pierce Wednesday afternoon, reporting from the hill town. “Dozens of houses and businesses are destroyed. Every house is just dust.”
