Back in August, Captain had a mass removed from his side. The mass was thought to be benign at the time, but the cause was still unknown. In September, we were preparing for a routine dental cleaning, but the vet discovered that Captain’s platelets were low, meaning he couldn’t properly clot wounds. For the next five months, we made countless trips to the vet for blood tests and lab work, searching for answers. On April 20, we finally received the diagnosis: lymphoma. The vet told me Captain might only have one to two months left without treatment, but with chemotherapy, he could have another year to enjoy life.
The funds raised will help cover the vet bills from his previous surgery and the upcoming chemotherapy treatments. Captain will need six months of chemotherapy, which could give us another year or more together. That’s another year of adventures, walks, and cherished moments before I have to say goodbye.
I’m reaching out for help because I want to give Captain the best last year possible. Any support means the world to us, and I’m grateful for every bit of kindness. Thank you for considering helping Captain and me during this difficult time.
