AYDN TAYLOR MEMORIAL

Hi, my name is Zoe; I am Aydn's mum. Aydn passed away at home at the age of 21 on 23rd September 2022 at 2pm in mine and his sisters arms. Aydn died of a very rare liver cancer called FIBROLAMELLAR HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA. It only affects young healthy people and doesn't often present symptoms until it is at stage 4. There are approximately only 200 people in the world with this cancer.

Aydn was studying to become a music producer at Confetti Institute in Nottingham. He loved music, particularly Jazz, and he played several instruments. He learned to play chess from a young age and loved to play. Aydn was diagnosed with stage 4 FHCC in December 2020, and for the next 21 months, he endured 25 rounds of chemo, amongst other procedures and treatment.

In lieu of flowers for Aydn's funeral, I have set this page up for people to help me create a stone chess table and plaque for a beautiful memorial garden piece. A place for family and friends to come and sit, reflect and remember Aydn. And play a game of chess in his honor.

All remaining funds will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit Retreat Room at Nottingham City Hospital, where Aydn and many other young people had and have their cancer treatment. I will buy something needed and useful for the retreat with the guidance of the staff there.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you provide here, and it will go towards a lasting memorial and something to help existing and future young cancer patients in Nottingham, UK.

In loving memory of Aydn Taylor 31.10.2000 - 23.09.2022
