Ayden's Art PC Replacement
Donation protected
Hi there! Feel free to call me Ayden! I am a digital artist who kinda got placed in a bad situation. I try not to ask for help, but it feels like I am at the end of my rope.
TLDR: This little fundraiser is to help me get a new PC/deal with bills that will occur when my current ends up kicking the bucket. I rely on my PC to do commissions that help pay my bills, apply for jobs, and juggle my healthcare as my phone (haha) is 6+ years old and can't.
A very small bit of it will also go towards passport fees, which is mentioned towards the bottom of this.
So PC -> BILLS -> PASSPORT.
Incoming Novel and I am sorry in advance.
Long story: My current PC is dying. I got this hunk o' junk back in 2021. At the time, I didn't have a lot of PC knowledge, nor did I have a lot of friends who were big into tech. I made the mistake of paying a high price for a PC that was missing parts and has costed me far more problems than it was worth. Listed having a 1TB SSD (it did not have that, it had a barely 300GB SSD, I replaced it later with a 1TB last year), having a graphics card (It did not have a graphics card, I had to put one in when I realized it didn't have one), and I had to replace the PSU because the current one was ~Faulty~, but they sent me a replacement though (How nice!). Refund date was well passed due by the time I realized I was pretty much scammed on the PC but I chose to just deal with it because that's the best I could do (Warranty is expired haha).
This PC is currently refusing certain updates no matter how many times I try to fix it, starting to overheat easily even though we've checked pretty much everything, its running slow, it's not saving files properly, and its starting to crash on basic programs (I recently lost a ton of artwork to a failed save, didn't realize it never saved, and I genuinely thought I hallucinated doing the art until I saw a WIP in a friends DMs).
My current "model": HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1022 Bundle PC (1K0D1AA) (Refurbished 2020).
Since buying it, I've gotten a graphics card, new SSD, new fans, and a new PSU. I'm out of funds to keep this tin can alive at this point.
A friend even said that due to the case and whatnot, one of my best options is to... take it apart and put it all in a new case. The brand is HP and its a pre-built PC, we don't even know if the motherboard CAN be moved. At that point, I would rather just get a new PC entirely.
Main problem: I am basically "unemployed", I take in art commissions to help pay for things here and there (taking care of the furbabies, pay the internets, misc bills when able). I also do not have a vehicle/license so the job hunt has been an absolute pain, especially when I live in a smaller town, and remote online jobs have been slowly diminishing. I also live in an area that is not very LGBT+ friendly, and its pretty obvious I am transgender (I was fired from my last job for being trans :D). I don't receive help on bills, it is just me. So right now, I NEED this pc to function and handle the workload I put on it. I am working with large art files as well as animation. It would be nice if I could just get a better, built PC that will at least last me a few years.
A friend has suggested that I put this at Maximum 3000$ to help with either building a pc, or buying a pc that was built by someone else, as well as helping with bills. IF this ever reaches that goal, I will be taking 200$ of it to get a passport because living in the US is no longer safe for me. A passport (book and card) here costs around 160$, but with all the fees from the post office, it's total is about 200$. Moving out of the US hopefully in a few months, it will take me some time to get a visa to help me with getting a job in another country, so having a working PC to help with an income flow would also be nice.
I greatly appreciate any bit of help. \o/
