Hi, I’m Red. Just a disabled tgirl stuck in Alberta, which is not only a province with a government that is becoming much more antagonistic to people like me, it’s also the place where I’ve spent the last decade of my life trapped in various abusive living situations, notably stuck in a violently abusive relationship for the last few years that I just got out of. So I’m trying to move away.

It’s been about half a year since I stopped living with my abusive ex, who was really my only source of material and social support to speak of here, and it’s been extremely difficult. I‘ve been trying to make it on my own but I’m deeply traumatized and very very isolated, living in an apartment plagued by mice, faulty heating, burst pipes, etc, surviving off of only what little income I get from disability. I can’t take it anymore. I’ve decided I need to get out of here and try to become self sufficient or I feel like I’ll die.

My plan is to move to a new province, learn a trade, and try to build a life. I’m lucky to have local contacts and plans for housing, school, and work, but they are somewhat tenuous, and I’m having to move when I’m already dead broke— I need financial help to cover some of these costs. From a new mattress, to the charge for breaking my lease, to just a plane ticket, I don’t know how I’m going to pay for any of this, I only have 200 dollars in the bank for the rest of the month lmao. I literally cannot do it without you! So please help if you can, every dollar counts. <3
