Coach Gerald Brown's Family Support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Letty Moran and I am the wife of Gerald Brown, an outstanding man, my best friend and father of five beautiful children. Many know him as GB or Coach Gerald Brown as he has touched so many lives. Gerald's top priority has always been to take care of our family -- to make sure our kids are happy, healthy and are not without their father. But, now we are dealing with a health crisis and need your help.
Gerald suffers from Systemic Lupus Erythemtosus (SLE). For those not familiar with lupus, it is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Because it's chronic, that means its signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.
My husband has battled lupus for the past seven years and it has led to heart and lung complications, on top of the typical skin and sun sensitivity. But today, he faces another health setback, kidney failure in both kidneys, which will require him to receive dialysis multiple times a week and to stay home and not work for a while. We don't know how long. With Gerald out of work indefinitely, we need your help to make ends meet and care for our three young children. Any dollar amount is appreciated.
Your support will help us to:
1) Hire certified interpreters to be on hand and interpret on Gerald's behalf for dialysis treatment, doctors appointments and any other hospital visits. I am unable to take off work for each appointment.
2) For regular home sanitization and cleaning services because with Gerald's condition, we have to keep our house fully clean and steralized as much as possible.
3) Buy groceries and necessary items for our kids. With Gerald off from work, we will only have one source of income.
4) Be able to have day care and family childcare for our three young children, Akilah (9), Xavier (4) and Sivana (1).
5) For a professional caregiver and coach to provide counseling and guidance to Gerald and the family.
It would mean so much to us, and especially Gerald, if you could help us out and donate whatever you can, and as soon as you can. No amount is too small. Please consider us in your holiday giving plans. We will be forever grateful.
Thanks,
Letty Moran
