Hi my name is Ayaan, I am fundraising to support my costs for Top surgery, as it is an extremely long waiting list, or (private) very expensive.

Top surgery has been a goal for me for many years and means that I am able to live my life to the fullest and I can actually live instead of just exist.

Gender has always been a big conflict for me since I was young, I was always envious of the boys and always felt a disconnect to girls, I didn’t enjoy typical “girl” things and enjoyed doing “boy” things. I had always wanted short “boy” hair from a young age and was finally able to cut my hair at 11.

This haircut changed my life. And has made into the person I am today.

Ever since then I have kept my hair short.

At 13 I realised that I am genderqueer, I came out in time for pride month.

After a while of being nervous to medically transition or make anyone aware of it, my mum helped me with doctors to find support as queer people are not an “everyday” experience where I live.

After a Year / year and 1/2, I decided I wanted to start my medical transition journey.

As of now I am 17 ,and am on the waiting list for my Gender Clinic appointment.

Even though I am aware that the waiting list is insanely long, it is still a step forward.

For me top surgery is the main part of my transition that will change my life for the better.

Choosing to go private for this surgery means that I will get the support and care that I need and means that I will not have to wait many, many years to get anywhere in my transition.

All donations made will go directly to supporting my surgery and recovery costs.
