help a transfemme musician fix her teeth
Donation protected
update as of 10/24/2024:
i have an appt for a root canal, as well as two extractions and implants in the next coming week, thanks to everyone's help i am able to pay for these services! this is all the work i need for the left side of my teeth, however the right side of my mouth also needs significant work as well. between these donations and some money i've saved and have been given outside the platform, i am short about $4800 to be able to finish the rest of all of my dental surgery and care. thank you all for your support and help so far, and if we can help share this around more to finish off this goal i might actually be able to see the light and not have to worry about continuing tooth infections, pains, antibiotics, painkillers, and subsequent trips to the ER and dental offices for the future
love u lots <3
hi! for any of you that don't know me, i'm xoshi, a 29 year old trans girl from philadelphia. i am a part time student at CCP, as well as a musician in my band UgLi.
for the last 5-6 years, i have struggled immensely with issues with my teeth as a result of needing root canals amongst other things. not being able to afford them, and having limited to no access to dental care has resulted in multiple and concurrent tooth and gum infections. i finally have medicaid and have been able to go to a dentist for the first time in years, and have found out the situation is a lot worse than i ever would have anticipated. i currently need two root canals which are not covered at all by my plan, not to mention very expensive. beyond this, i have to have a couple teeth extracted, which will luckily be covered by my insurance, however i am at a point where i may need to have a couple implants done or something similar in order to have a well functioning mouth again. i have tried over and over to get appointments in medical schools and never seem to be able to snag one as they are always booked out. after calling multiple endodontist surgeons, i came up with this number in hopes to finally be able to fix this monstrous issue and hopefully be able to smile again.
i had always hoped that maybe i would make a gofundme to fundraise for gender affirming surgeries or care, but my dental health has become such an urgent priority at this point this has become my last resort. please consider donating and helping me be able to smile again.
any additional funds beyond costs of taking care of these issues will be subsequently distributed to others in my city in need through mutual aid postings.
thank you so much.
with love, xoshi durante<3
