Our friend, Ms. Gonzalez is always there for us...well, now is a time we can be there for her! Ms. Gonzalez's family is going through a difficult time. It takes a lot of courage for someone to accept help. Please read their story below, and consider doing what you can.
"Hi there, my name is Laura Gonzalez, better known as Ms. Gonzalez. My dad, Guillermo Gonzalez was diagnosed with NA cirrhosis of the liver in November and it quickly turned to end-stage liver disease by the beginning of this year with his MELD score being 39. He has been in and out of the hospital for several weeks at a time since November. His health was severely declining and he was in need of a liver transplant. Luckily, he was able to have a liver transplant on February 25th. His road to recovery has not been easy and has been faced with some complications as he continues to recover in the intensive care unit.
My goal in this is to hopefully allow my parents to focus on the journey to recovery and reduce the stress of money during these times. Though it is a bit awkward to share, funding is sort of the answer to support my dad and mom at the moment. My mom has left the comfort of her home and her job to travel to where my dad was moved to and help be his full-time aide. This money would be used to help her with the cost of travel, hotel stays, medical bills, and all the little things since both my parents have not been able to work. My brothers and I have been helping as much as we can but as you can imagine, things add up and the rest of the world does not stop. I understand that through this pandemic, others have had several challenges in their lives. Even if you are not able to donate, I ask you to have my father in your thoughts.
My family and I appreciate your time in reading and sharing this. Thank you for your prayers, and your generosity.
Thank you again!"
