Axel was a loving father of five, an incredible brother, a devoted grandfather, and a special, one of a kind friend. Axel struggled over 25 years with drug addiction. In August 2017 after being released from prison, Axel was finally getting his life together; he was working every day and going to school to be a drug and substance abuse counselor and although life seemed to be brighter, he could never quiet the demons that troubled his mind and heart. Anyone that knew him knew that he was a genuine person with a big, generous heart and even though the odds were against him, he maintained a positive attitude. On January 30th, Axel lost his battle to addiction and depression.
