Love is greater than Leukemia

Hello friends.  This precious little boy is Kaleb Hanning.  Kaleb is 7 months old, and in November was diagnosed with Leukemia.  He is the great nephew to Terry and Amanda Parker, and Kris and Holly Lawrence.  Currently Kaleb's  grandparents, Ken and Jody Hanning, are his sole financial and physical providers.  While the news of his diagnosis has been quite devastating to Ken and Jody, as well as the rest of the family, his physicians are very optimistic about his recovery and  long-term  prognosis.  Praise God for this wonderful outlook!  Kaleb's recovery and ability to live a healthy life thereafter are the single most important focus for Ken and Jody.  While they are more than capable of caring for him,  this will surely impact them financially in the present and future.  As well as making sure that at least one of them is with Kaleb in the hospital daily, they also have duties of raising school-age children at home, and holding full-time employment.  Ken and Jody live in Galveston and both must make a 100 mile or greater round trip to Texas Children's  Hospital in the  Texas Medical Center daily.  Kaleb has been in the hospital 4 weeks already, and is expected to be there another 4 weeks at the least.  His treatments may take as long as 4 years according to his physicians.  Along with the financial responsibility of his medical bills, they will also bear the financial burden of the fuel costs, food, and car maintenance.  They also have their normal regular household bills to account for, and a son who will soon be attending college.  Kaleb is insured under a medical plan, but there will still be a co-insurance and deductible payment to be met.  The strain of caring for Kaleb coupled with a possible extreme financial tribulation will certainly take a heavy toll.  If you know Ken and Jody personally, you know that Kaleb couldn't possibly have better caretakers  for his situation.  Even still, the most dedicated and loving guardians could benefit with help from others.  If you are willing we are asking first and foremost for prayers for Kaleb, Ken, and Jody.  Prayers that God will heal this little one, and prayers that Ken and Jody will be able to continue to bear this enormous encumbrance in every capacity.  Beyond that if you able and willing we ask that you would make a donation for the benefit of Kaleb.  Any amount small or large would be a tremendous help and blessing.
