Axanar Animal Rescue needs your help!

Donation protected
Crysstal and I have been in rescue since 2017 when we first rescued 3 puppies left out in the coldest weather of the year. One of those three, Mama, just passed away from cancer last week, but we were able to give her more love and affection in her 6 years with us than she had ever known.

Since then, we have rescued dozens of dogs, worked with TLC Pet Rescue and Freedom Bridge Animal rescue to help foster and transport dozens more and last year started rescuing cats! Now, a year and a half later, we have rescued over 50 cats, spayed and neutered dozens of local strays to prevent unwanted kittens, and have incorporated our rescue and are awaiting 501c3 status.

Over the last month and a half, we have incurred serious veterinary bills. This includes the new foster dog, a beautiful and sweet Star-pei/Lab mix named Penny who is from a hoarding situation. He spay last week was complicated as she is nine years old and her vet bill is over $1,000.

Axanar Animal rescue now has a team of 5 volunteers who all contribute to our ability to save animals. We currently are fostering 23 kittens between ourselves, and our two fosters Emily and Amanda, and our amazing bottle feeder Katie. Add to that Adriana who does our signage, Dale Simpson, who is always there for us to do anything needed and a great relationship with PetSense and Axanar Animal rescue is on a roll!

Now we are happy to have struck a deal to have a sister rescue in Athens who will be helping foster and who we will be working on all sorts of great projects with.

But we need your help! We are overwhelmed with bills. We currently owe over $3,300 in veterinary bills, and we spend about $1,000 a month on food and litter for the cats. We also buy our own vaccines and chips now, and that all costs money!

Also, we transport nationwide for FREE through our partner Delta Air Rescue Transport.

So please donate anything you can. Even $5 makes a difference! And THANK YOU!

Part of the litter of 6 we rescued when their Mom was killed by a coyote.

Kitcat is ready for adoption after giving birth to 4 kitties in a trap. We took her in the next day when we were contacted. Her kitties are now with fosters being socialized.

Our set up at PetSense. We adopt out 2 cats per week on average.

Lt. Mews was found alone and crying. We were there to save him and he got his name from his bottle feeder Katie who said he mewed constantly.

Yuki and Toma were found under a house and we rescued them from the nice lady who found them. Both have been adopted!

Shamus is a little black cat full of character waiting to be adopted. Alec and Crysstal adopted Gus Gus who needed major surgery to cure a birth defect. Our dear friend Dave Lanyon rode to the rescue for GusGus!

Penny is a 9 year old, 72 lb bundle of love. "The Perfect Dog" according to Crysstal, she is house trained, leash trained, loves dogs, cats and especially kids! We need an adopter who can love her and give her plenty of head rubs. Will transport her anywhere in the USA!
