As some of you know our lovely Mother Cristina Flores was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer and Non-Hodgkin disease, on the 5th of June.
Christie is a vibrant mother of 5, raised us all as a single mother and carefor us exhaustingly. Taking care of the ones related to her, but also of the ones around her being those at work or in her community.She truly has a big heart and tremendous sense of humour. Always wanting to see the best in hard situations. Therefore, we believe our mother being diagnosed with cancer is only an obstacle, one that she will briefly deal with.
In spite of this, now at 53, still taking care of our young sister, young brother and grandmother. She needs our help. Cancer is expensive and exhausting. She has bravely endured one surgery and one Chemotherapy. This type of cancer is a bit difficult to treat, since it attacks and spreads through all her lymphatic system, making it difficult to determine the area of where the cancer is located, but making it easy for the cancer to spread to any area of her body. After several exams and even one radiotherapy treatment to determine the area of her cancer, she is finally moving on to the most difficult phase of her treatment: six months of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy will severely limit her ability to work, perform and support herself and those around her. We have researched funding and while we continue to apply for every type of financial aid available, it is a long and debilitating process. Our family's private insurance is helping out with a percentage of each treatment, however we need more to cover the treatments and her living costs. Therefore we have started this campaign to help our mother's bills be paid and she will be able to rest and recover peacefully. Knowing that she is being taken care of while she fights for her health and vitality.

Como algunos de de ustedes saben, Cristina Flores, nuestra mamá, fue diagnosticada con cáncer de Linfoma y síndrome de No-Hodgkins, el pasado 5 de Junio.
Un poco sobre quien es nuestra mamá. Madre soltera de cinco, siempre haciendose cargo de todos las personas que la rodeaban. Muy trabajadora. Con un corazón enorme y sentido del humor increíble, abriendo siempre sus puertas hacia todas las personas que necesitaran de su apoyo y amor, sea en el trabajo como en su comunidad. Un claro ejemplo fué, de cómo nos convertimos en cinco. Nuestros primos, perdieron a su mami Teresa Santos, que en paz descanse, en la batalla contra el cáncer de mama ya hace varios años. Al verse en esta situación difícil, nuestra mamá no lo pensó dos veces y los integró de forma inmediata a nuestro hogar. Convirtiendonos en cinco, cinco hermanos muy unidos cual nos sentimos devastados hacia esta noticia.
Sabemos que el cáncer, será tan solo un obstáculo sencillo para nuestra guerrera, pero en base a la experiencia, sabemos que no deja de ser una situación exhaustiva, no sólo emocionalmente, pero también económicamente. Nuestra mamá a sus 53 años, se hace cargo aún de nuestro hermanitos jóvenes y de nuestra abuelita. Y como muchos saben, el cáncer no es barato y es bastante desgastante en todos los sentidos para la persona que la padece. Siendo mi mamá la proveedora del hogar, deja a nuestra familia en una situación económica bastante dificil. Por ello, les pedimos su ayuda.
Nuestra mamá ya pasó la primera fase, cual consiste en arduos exámenes, una cirugía y una quimioterapia. Sin embargo, este tipo de cáncer es bastante dificil de tratar, ya que éste fácilmente se esparce por todo su sistema linfático haciendo dificil su localización. Por ello, las quimioterapias son necesarias para atacar de lleno a éste cáncer. Así dando el siguiente y más arduo paso: 6 meses de quimioterapia. Limitando su capacidad de trabajo y su día a día. Nuestra familia cuenta con un seguro médico, pero éste tan solo cubre un cierto porcentaje de los tratamientos. Hemos investigado también para cualquier forma de apoyo económico, sin embargo, no deja de ser una situación debilitante y tardada. Por ello, les pedimos a ustedes, a nuestros amigos y familiares. Que por favor nos apoyen, deseamos que nuestra mamá se recupere y siga peleando contra esta enfermedad pacíficamente. Que regrese a su vitalidad, sin necesidad de preocuparse por las cuentas del hospital y del hogar.
No hay aportación pequeña, cualquier donación es bienvenida. También si nos pueden apoyar compartiendo, lo apreciaríamos mucho. Les agradecemos su amor y cariño en estos momentos difíciles, gracias!
