At the current moment the 2026 fiscal budget makes me stand to lose my job with the elimination of funding for Fuel Assistance. I live remotely without a car and am fortunate to have a position that allows me to work remotely much of the time but as this change happens this is no longer guaranteed. Last year when my car died, I lost all income and had to spend months searching for work and was nearly evicted and I now need to especially not make any late payments or I will be unhoused. Without a car I am extremely limited in the jobs I can take or even get to to interview and I need to make sure I have transportation lined up in the event these events result in my joblessness. Since I am employed by a non profit organization, I am ineligible for unemployment benefits in the state of MA, and face barriers to employment as a trans woman. The proceeds of this gofundme will ensure I have access to reliable transportation in the event that things will go the way that they look to be. I cannot stress enough that I cannot afford to have a lapse in my income. A working vehicle will ensure I can at least deliver for doordash while I look for other work
