Hi, I’m Genie.

At first, people noticed my feet—I’m a polydactyl cat, which means I have extra toes. Everyone smiled when they saw my funny paws, and I liked that. But I didn’t really know how to trust them. I’d never had someone truly care for me before, and I didn’t know what their intentions were. Therefore I stayed quiet. I stayed hidden. I stayed scared.

Eventually, Pet Patrol placed me in a foster home. That’s where everything changed and I thrived!

With time and patience, I started to believe in people and that they could be kind. I started accepting pets, curling up beside my foster family on the couch, and even purring and kneading with my mitten feet. I was finally learning what love felt like.

But then something went wrong. I started drooling… a lot! I didn’t feel like myself, and I didn’t want to eat. A trip to the vet confirmed it: I have a condition called stomatitis, which causes my body to react painfully to the tartar on my teeth. It hurts, every bite, every chew, every day.

For some cats, medications can help. But not for me. Even on pain meds, the inflammation won’t go away. The only real option left is a full mouth extraction—to remove all my teeth and give me a chance to live pain-free.

It’s a scary thought, but I want to be happy. I’ve worked so hard to become the sweet, trusting cat I am today. I just need this one last step to finally be healthy….. and adoptable.

Pet Patrol is doing everything they can for me, but the cost of dental surgery is a lot. If you can help—even just a little—it would mean the world to me. I’ve come so far, and I’m so close to having the life I deserve. Thank you for believing in me.
