Lung Cancer Stinks

Many of you know that my father, Tim Griswold, has been diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. This cancer is very aggressive, so he is currently undergoing both radiation and chemotherapy. These treatments are to attack the cancer in the lungs only. There has been a spot found in his brain, which they will determine a separate treatment for once these are complete.

What you may not know is that my Dad has always been a hard worker and actually really enjoys getting his hands dirty and taking care of others. He is of the rare kind that would give to others at his own expense whatever the cost. He loves so big y’all. He drives a semi truck and is still attempting to take 2 loads per week to keep his health insurance active and take care of any medical and living expenses. I went on one of these loads with him recently and I was so exhausted! I have no idea how he is managing to do this and go to the hospital every day for treatments that exhaust him further.

I dont know that I’ve ever asked any of my beloved friends for anything. And I certainly never thought I’d be the one posting one of these.

But I’m at a loss.

I need help to help him.

Though Dad has insurance, that doesn’t cover all the medical expenses even. He has deductible payments, copays, gas to get to the other town that his treatments are in. And then his mortgage and utility bills that are mounting up daily.

I will be paying these bills directly to these companies. Every single penny will go 100% to these bills. And should God grant a miracle and the expenses do not amount to what is put on this account, I will personally ensure that any remaining funds be donated to help another cancer patient.

Please prayerfully consider donating. And I really do mean that ANY amount helps. I’ve often thought “I want to help but I only have $5 that I could extend to this. If they see that I only have that amount then they will think I don’t really care.” Well, I was wrong! Being on this side now, I know that any amount truly is a huge help and would be received with unfathomable gratitude!

And regardless of whether you are able to help financially or not, please come alongside us in prayer. Our mighty King and Great Physician is the only Who truly heals. My father is a believer and he trusts that this is all in God’s hands. And we all truly want God to have all the glory in this!!
