hi, my name is alfie and im trying to raise money for Angelo my teamate from st Neots. I met Angelo through football at saint neots and he was a big motivation for me and always kept me up right when things were going wrong. Last year he was feeling ill all week and he thought he was better and came to training. He told the coaches he had a head ache so he sat out and took on some water. After that he came back onto the training session and he didn’t seem himself so he ended up leaving a little bit earlier than everyone else. That night he went to sleep and unfortunately had a fit (seizure) in the night his brother was in his room and got his parents and luckily he got to addenbrooke’s hospital were he got put into a coma in intensive care on a ventilator. It took some time to find out what it was but they declared it as meningitis. Angelo had gone through not only his birthday but also Christmas in a coma. He was moved to a ward in Addenbrooks until February 2025 when he was then moved to the children’s trust in Tadworth were they help rehabilitate children with brain injuries. Angelo was able to go home in April 2025 were he would continue his rehab. Unfortunately due to Angelo’s seizure he is now non verbal and is now in a wheelchair. Due to his story and many people knowing it Angelo was able to get a private physio to help him with his recovery and rehab. I would like to raise money for not only these two charities, meningitis now and heart link UK, but to help Angelo and continue this rehab. There was a fundraiser with Saint Neots on the 29th of January were they invited Alan smith in to talk about his career and there was games and loads of things to raise money for Angelo again. Angelo was meant to be there but during that week he unfortunately had another seizure. Thankfully this caused no set backs for Angelo and he can carry on with his rehab but it’s still a long journey for him. It’s a long recovery for him now but he’s got a lot of support and this charity match will help him and the charity. Angelo is on a big recovery road now but he definitely is not alone with all the support he has got from not only friends and family but addenbrookes hospital too. Its going to be a long recovery but this charity match will be good to raise awareness on this horrible illness that is most common in young teenagers nowadays. Please help me and Charlie Springate raise as much money as we can so we can make this charity match possible for Angelo and to raise awareness on meningitis and help donate for heart link to.❤️ we are looking to hold a non uniform day on the 1st of may at the school we attend to raise that little bit more money.
