Awarded Retired Veteran for 20+ yrs

Donation protected
As many of you know, my husband, 1SG Ogbonna Kenyatta passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.  He only recently retired from United States Army this past February, after proudly serving 27 years as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC.  My husband was a combat veteran and a five bronze star recipient.  Throughout his career, he was deployed to multiple locations throughout the world, fighting the Global War on Terrorism while mentoring young soldiers and positively impacting everyone he crossed paths with.

On Tuesday morning, I went to work after sending my two youngest kids to school.  My daughter was the last person to leave the house, on her way to class.  She recalls her dad being up with the dog, and noticing him being dressed for a day of fishing.  Being a cool day out, it would only make sense that he go fishing, since he loved it so much.  Later that afternoon, I came home from work, and as I walked in the kitchen, I spoke to him, but he didn't respond.  So I went to the living room, where I assumed he was sleeping on the couch and called out his name, "Kenyatta" as I shook him, but he didn't respond.  I immediately called 911.  They informed us that Kenyatta passed from natural causes, but because he was so young, we are determined to find the real cause of his passing for the sake of me and my three kids.

Kenyatta loved the military so much, as it was his whole life for many years.  Even after retiring, it was very hard for him to adjust to life as a civilian.  He will be remembered as a true warrior who loved his family, friends and way of life in the 82nd Airborne Infantry.

With this sudden loss, we are heartbroken and unprepared for the associated financial expenses, and asking for donations to assist with the funeral arrangements.  Anything you can give is greatly appreciated!
