Phi Kappa Tau- Walk for a Lifetime
Donation protected
As men of the Alpha Kappa chapter of Phi Kappa Tau, we firmly believe that it is our duty to give back to the community and help sustain an environment that supports, benefits, and empower one another. Our goal is to help better strengthen our community, and take the initiative to give back to those with less opportunities. One such way we strive to do this is by donating all that we can to our national philanthropy the Serious Fun Network.
Founded by our very own Paul Newman, while they use some of the donations for research, the Serious Fun Network puts on yearly camps and programs for kids who have terminal illnesses. These camps and programs allow the terminally ill children to experience a week filled with fun and engaging activities that they otherwise would not have the opportunity to do, leading to the opportunity to give them a break from the hospital beds in order for them to have the time of their life! For more information on The Serious Fun Network, please visit https://www.seriousfunnetwork.org/ or their Facebook page at SeriousFun Children's Network.
April 24th we will be hosting and participating in our walk-a-thon (about 10mi) from Washington State University to our neighbor Chapter at the University of Idaho. It is with humbled hearts that we ask you, students, parents, faculty and the rest of the community to help us achieve our goal of $2500 to put smiles on as many faces as we can.
.
We are welcoming all Washington State University students/staff, as well as all members of the Pullman community to come out and walk for a great cause! For individuals we are asking for a $10 dollar buy-in per person. A $50 dollar group rate will be given for groups of 6 people or more. We recommend that all participants arrange for transportation from the arrival destination (Phi Kappa Tau at the University of Idaho).
For any questions and concerns please feel free to message me Pierre-Louis on Facebook. Also, you can contact me (@253-249-3342) if you would like to strictly donate, but not walk. We look forward to seeing all supporters of The Serious Fun Network on April 24th!
