Help Awaisha Relocate to LSE
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Awaisha Inayat, a mental health advocate, educator and youth mentor from Pakistan and I just got accepted into my dream university: The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)!
After years of working with women, students and underserved communities on mental health, social inclusion and workplace well-being, I’ve been selected for a Master’s in Societal and Environmental Psychology; a globally renowned program at LSE that aligns perfectly with my life’s work and mission.
To make things even more special, I’ve been awarded the AKO Foundation Masters Scholarship , which covers 100% of my tuition fee. But while my education is funded, the cost of relocating to London is not and I need a little help to get there.
What I am raising funds for:
- UK Student Visa: £524 ($702)
- Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £1,164 ($1,560)
- Airfare from Karachi to London: £700 ($900)
- Initial living costs including transportation (4 months @ £1400 / month): £5,600 ($7,576)
- Laptop & Misc cost: £1,500 ($2000)
This will help me settle in the UK, focus on my studies and manage basic living expenses until I can begin a part-time job.
Why This Means So Much
I grew up studying at the University of Karachi - Pakistan, often dreaming of global classrooms, cutting-edge research and the chance to represent my country on a bigger stage. Now, after years of effort, rejections, growth and hard-won experience, I finally made it. And this isn’t just for me, this is for:
- The women I’ve mentored back into careers after long breaks
- The youth who battle self-doubt, stigma and mental health challenges
- Every young girl in Pakistan who dreams beyond what society expects of her
This degree will help me build sustainable mental health initiatives, design better systems and bring back solutions that work, especially for underrepresented and rural communities.
How You Can Help
Every contribution, big or small, helps me take one step closer to my academic journey at LSE. Here’s how your support makes an impact:
- £8 / $11 → Weekly travel pass for commuting / local transport
- £40 / $54 → Contribution toward visa fees / essential document processing
- £80 / $108 → Supports initial setup costs (e.g., groceries, SIM card)
- £160+ / $200+ → Helps with larger expenses: health surcharge / full visa costs
If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this page with friends / networks or anyone who believes in women’s education, mental health and global equity would mean a lot. I’ll be posting updates so you can stay part of the journey!
