This week my special baby Lucy was enjoying Maple Grove dog park with her best pal Millie when we heard Lucy whining and attempting to run towards us, only to see a large stick hanging out the side of her. We immediately raced her to Southglen veterinary hospital, where the great staff were waiting to take care of her. After stabilizing her, they did surgery on the hole, and discovered the stick had gone very deep, and punctured her diaphragm. This resulted in more surgery, with tubes being placed in both the wound, and her thoracic cavity. Due to the extreme risk of infection and complications from these tubes, she is now being taken care of by the staff at Bridgewater veterinary hospital, day and night. Her prognosis is great, but the vet bills have already built to $6000 and rising. This little girl is young and has so much life left to live. She is my heart, my best friend, my everything. I know there are so many struggling right now, but if you have anything to give, any small amount will help Lucy and myself to get through this very traumatic experience.
