Erin's cancer journey

Hi, My name is Holly Kerr and I am fundraising to help my dear friend Erin Barber.

My friend went from being a boss woman, owning a business, travelling, loving life, barrel racing, training horses to her world stopping and coming down with the words no one wants to hear. CANCER.

Erin was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in October 2023. This cancer in non-curable. She started radiation treatments after she was diagnosed, she had to undergo colostomy surgery shortly after she started radiation and has had many hospital stays.

She started Chemotherapy in 2024 which she gets done every two weeks and is continuing to do today.

Erin has had some major complications along the way, she fought through a blood clot in her lung which caused another hospital stay and most recently Erin discovered she had a new tumor growing in her brain. She underwent a gamma knife procedure to hold this at bay.

Erin is one of the hardest working people we know, she has countless volunteer hours with the Ag society, gymkhana events and so on. She is a single mom of two of the most amazing kids. She loves to ride horses, she loves her animals, and loves to keep busy. There are days when Erin is bed bound for weeks at a time, and if you know her this does not sit well with her.

Erin has very much kept her spirits up, gets up everyday to fight this horrible disease. I believe she has fought to much on her own and now I want to help relieve some of her financial burdens.

I am asking all friends, family and any generous souls to please help relieve some of the financial burdens on Erin and her family that she is faced with during this very difficult time. Erin's whole world has changed, from being the most independent person I know to having to rely on others is not something that is easy for her to do. Erin is unable to work due to her treatments and unfortunately the bills and cost of living don’t stop when a loved one falls ill but we can only hope that enough loving people can help Erin stay as strong as she can, while we do our part to help cover some of the expenses she will endure during her battle with this hateful disease.
