HELP US TRAIN 30 TEACHERS IN TANZANIA
In 2017 Christian and Helen met one of the best teachers in the world, Malima at the Global Education Skills Forum in Dubai. Malima is an inspirational science and mathematics teacher at Nsumba School in Mwanza, Tanzania.

Teachers at his school HAVE OVER 100 CHILDREN IN EVERY CLASS.
Malima asked if The STEM Circle could help. We were so moved by his need, that we decided to do whatever we could to make a difference for Malima and his fellow teachers.
‘Train 30 teachers in Tanzania’ project was born. We would raise money to allow us to go to Tanzania to train at least 30 teachers in his community and give each of them the technology they need to transform their classrooms.

Christian decided that launching this project through a Gofundme Campaign on his 30th birthday would be the perfect timing; asking guests to donate what they would spend on a birthday present.
To honour the culture and spirit of the African people, we will be sharing a meal with Christian’s friends and family as they come together to celebrate his 30th and support this initiative. Eating from the same plate is a cultural tradition in Africa. It is often said that people who eat from the same plate support each other. The sincerity created between diners is truly unique and must be experienced by a group to be understood.

Friends and family across the globe, please join together with us like Africans do, in a community of support. Your offer of support will not only provide the best 30th birthday present ever for Christian but also for those 3000+ kids in Tanzania whose teachers need our help.
We need to raise at least $7,000 to cover the purchase of 30 tablets and airfares to Tanzania. Together we can make a difference!

About Christian & Helen
Christian and Helen aspire to build a global community of Math’s lovers. They have been recognised as some of Australia’s best STEM education initiatives, focused on building Australia’s pipeline of innovators and problem solvers in 2016 by PWC.
As a primary school teacher and STEM leader, Christian was awarded the National Excellence in Teaching Award in recognition of work in personalised and project-based learning. He was a Finalist for Young Australian of the Year for his teaching methods and inspiring children to overcome adversity. Christian was then named a top 50 finalist for the 2016 Global Teacher Prize, and through this was recognised globally as an expert teacher and leader in Australian Education.
Helen, a leading teacher of 10 years, is a senior executive leader across business, philanthropy and higher education. Together, they are a passionate, driven couple, that collectively engages with a global network of experts and supporters.
Christian and Helen have created methods of delivery that give access to STEM education, technology and personalised professional development for teachers, in any classroom around the world.
They support teachers either through online professional development workshops or personal face to face training; aimed at sharing best practice in education and providing the necessary support desperately needed by these teachers. In addition, they create personalised professional development tools for teachers in disadvantaged communities using tablets, mobile technology, and custom created student/teacher resources. Many of these are in a variety of languages. They have projects currently running in Fiji, Sierra Leone and Malawi.
These projects are coordinated from Australia and are currently run during their holidays. They have never been to Africa.
