I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2022. I am one semester away from finishing my master's in cognitive psychology. I went through chemo for 4.5 months, and had a double mastectomy on May 9. I was not able to work or continue school through chemo because I had all sorts of health complications. I had multiple trips to the ER and was hospitalized twice. After surgery, my body began to strengthen, but I was hospitalized again mid-June for sepsis. I just found out that I need another 14 rounds (11 months) of chemotherapy. I have state financial assistance, and was awarded a small grant from the Susan G. Koman foundation, however it is not enough to live on until I go back to work and school. Funds will be used for non-medical health products recommended by my doctor to help get through chemo, to pay for water aerobics classes at a local pool (to rehab my body from chemo and surgery), rent, utilities, and to put gas in my car. Thank you for considering helping me out.
