With heavy hearts but gratitude to God we announce the death of AVSE Ezekiel Leo Odugbemi after a brief illness in the morning of Friday, March 25, 2022.  He came back from visiting his family in Nigeria on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, before he was called to eternal glory.

Uncle Leo (as he was popularly known) emigrated to the United States of America in the 1970s. He was one of the founding fathers of the Celestial Church of Christ in the USA particularly New York Parish and Ileri Oluwa Parish both in Brooklyn NY USA. He served the church in several positions, among which was as the second Shepherd-In-Charge of Celestial Church of Christ, Ileri Oluwa Parish, Brooklyn NY, from 2005 - 2014.

Shortly after he left Ileri Oluwa Parish he joined Celestial Church of Christ, Promised Land Parish, Brooklyn NY where he served as an elder Stateman and adviser to the former Shepherd-In-Charge in person of Sup. Evang. Jide Olubi for over seven years. In the last year he occasionally fellowship at Celestial Church of Christ, New York Parish.

We would like to give him a befitting burial. We appeal to fellow Celestians and friends to assist in relieving his family of the financial burden. We ask for donations to help cover the funeral cost and to ship his remains back to Nigeria.
