HBOT for Jake

Donation protected

When we were in Walmart two years ago, Jake collapsed and we took him to the hospital and they airlifted him to U of M in Ann Arbor, the doctors told us that he had a brain hemmorage that caused a stroke. He was paralyzed in his right arm and leg. He had to learn to walk again and to use his right arm. That took a lot of therapy but Jake did it because he is our hero.. We kept having to go back to U of M for MRI's, cat scans, etc, they never could find anything and told us that some kids just have bleeds in the brain once in a while and that there would probably never happen again. On May 16, 2014, we were getting ready to go grocery shopping and Jake said to me, "I don't think we can go, I cant walk right." Jake couldn't keep his balance and was walking really funny, then I told him to sit down and a few seconds later, he said he couldn't feel his arm. Then his speech went and he was slurring his words. I almost threw up right there, I couldn't believe this was happening again. So, we loaded Jake, his sister Tori, myself and my husband in the truck and we were off to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, they did a cat scan of the brain and told me his brain bled again. The helicopter was called and they took Jake to U of M. We got in the truck and went to Ann Arbor too. It was the longest trip of my life. When we got to the hospital, Jake was already there, those helicopters fly very, very fast! We went to the room where Jake was and the doctors came in and said that he definitely had another stroke but they were sure this time that they would figure out what was going on. Well, somewhere, it went from that to his neurosurgeon telling us that it was just another invisible fluke and that they weren't going to do anything else for him; and just to come back in two months for an MRI. So here was our Jake, paralyzed again, unable to walk or to use his right arm. We were in that hospital for 7 days with Jake getting therapy twice a day and beginning to use his arms and legs again. He was discharged and when we got home, he started to go to a wonderful outpatient therapy clinic that was near our home. He started walking better and even using his arm again, he can even write now! But now, we have a trip planned to go to Cincinnati Ohio on July 15 to see the doctors there and hopefully they can figure out what is going on inside Jake's brain. We just need some answers and for this nightmare to be over.
