Avoid our family to be evicted

Hello, my name is Daniela and we are desperately in need of financial help.

Back in January this year, we had to arrange a last minute traveling to my husband visit his mother for a week, who was fighting cancer for the last year, putting aside some of our bills.

When he got back to Canada, he lost his job as a self employer to a company that was his main work for the last 5 years. His mother passed away in this same week.

Carlos, who is hearing impaired, is struggling to find work in his field (construction) since that, while getting small jobs for some friends but it has been barely enough to make ends meet. He applied for EI and didn’t got approved as some other help that doesn’t match his/our profile. With that said, we had to prioritize basic needs as food, public transportation and communication. And our rent start to build up, leaving us anxious and desperate.

We have a great landlord who is very patient and thoughtful with us, but the amount owning reached to a limit we can’t afford and they can’t wait anymore. So we are facing a delicate moment where we need to pay or we are going to be evicted in the next couple weeks.

We have two small kids (9 and 5) and all of us are ADHD, something we embrace but don’t have the proper support. That together with another mental health issues impacting our daily lives. We don’t have any family in Canada that could be here for us in a moment like this.

I’m out of job market has been several years due my responsibilities as a mom and together with mental health disabilities issues. Even though, I’m looking for some paid training to get back in a career, looking forward to provide a better life for us.

Some weeks are worst than others; Sometimes we can’t afford transportation, sometimes food is getting very limited. We are reaching for the kid’s school, our friends, social assistances and everything else that is possible. But nothing is overnight and we are trying our best to get out of this situation, but we need some breathing to let us able to go back on track.

We have plans and dreams for our future, unfortunately in this moment we are asking for any kind of help to get back our life in order and peace of mind.
