For the families that have been a part of The Goddard School at The Wharf over the past year, you were lucky enough to meet our wonderful Development Coordinator, Avlon.
Last month, Avlon was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer and she is ready to begin her journey to beat this terrible disease. She consistently reaches out to the School asking how things are going and expresses her desire to be back here to support our families and children. With time, we all want this to happen!
The name "Avlon's Attitude" comes from her willingness to go above and beyond, for any situation. The attitude that she brings to the School each and every day inspires others to always be the best they can be. She has a "No Excuses" mentality and we know that she will carry the same attitude forward, while beating this diagnosis. Avlon's warm and nurturing affection is always apparent when engaging with the children in the classrooms. She is a role model for all of our teachers, and this is a position that leaves us with big shoes to fill. We know that her strength alone is already enough to move past this, but we are now hoping we can all come together to provide her with a bit of support.
Beginning Wednesday, October 21st, we will be collecting donations for her and her family during this difficult time, while she is fighting and unable to do what she loves most... help others. With every donation of $20 dollars, a t-shirt will be given to represent her fight! We are limiting the number of t-shirts to "4" per donation. This does not mean there is cap limit on your donation, but any amount greater than $80 will only be eligible for "4" t-shirts. This donation period will end on Sunday, November 15th. The t-shirt order will be placed on the following Monday morning and we plan to distribute the t-shirts/make the donation to Avlon before the Thanksgiving holiday. SEE BELOW FOR SHIRTS!
