AVLcakelady Bakery Equipment
Entrepreneurship is a word that many dream about but find it hard to achieve.
STEP UP...Shana McDowell aka known locally as the AVLcakelady.
Shana has dreamed of finding a way for her to raise her 5 children and help with her new grandchild while doing a job she loves.
CAKES… CUPCAKES… COOKIES. Not her first choice.
After taking a class, Shana learned she had a knack for baking and decided this would be her start. Along with her daughters, Leigha and Lizzie and a little help from her son, Vonnie, Shana managed to open her on Bakery in North Asheville, N.C.

A big step for a woman who put her energy into raising her children in a low-income housing environment. Shana wanted to show her children that there are opportunities out there. Hard work has been paying off. Shana’s dreams are coming true. She opened her little storefront Bakery on March 30th and has been showing her skills to the Asheville community.

However, working with second hand equipment only goes so far and limits how much business she can do.
Shana is now in need of a new commercial oven and refrigerator to keep up with the volume of orders coming her way.
The cost for a stove and fridge comes to a whopping $7,000. She needs 5,000 to be able to own the equipment out right rather than having to pay rental fees.

Shana says "her dreams will not be diminished." Shana does make a difference in her community and plans to work with small groups to teach basic skills in cake and cookie making.
Please help Shana make her business grow.
