I have a request that is very close to my heart.
Yesterday I visited a friend and neighbor whose 14 year old son is fighting osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone.
I was struck by three things on my visit: their courage, his smile, and the struggle he faces daily in his own home.
He has a wheelchair but because of the way their house is built, he cannot get to the bathroom, the kitchen, his bedroom, or in and out of the house in his wheelchair at all. This is something we can fix for this amazing family. So I'm asking for your help. I am starting a fundraiser to meet this family's needs for their son, so they can focus on taking care of him and not have to worry about how to get him from room to room or out the door to doctor's appointments, and so he can sleep in his own bed.
The money raised will be used to buy a new bed for him, to fix the thresholds between rooms to make them wheelchair compatible, and to build a new entrance into their home with a ramp.
Any leftover funds will be used to buy gas cards and grocery cards for them and to help with any extra expenses they may have.
While I wish I could take this fight away for them, this is something I can do, something we can all do together. Thank you so much for your help.
